It Welcome to the International Association for Truancy and Dropout Prevention (IATDP), one of the oldest organizations dedicated to addressing truancy, chronic absenteeism, and dropout prevention. For more than a century, our association has brought together professionals who are passionate about ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed, stay engaged in school, and graduate prepared for the future.
The IATDP works to support schools, families, and communities through collaboration, the sharing of research, evidence-based intervention strategies, emerging practices, professional networking, and our annual conference. Our diverse membership includes graduation coaches, attendance officers, administrators, teachers, counselors, child welfare professionals, mental health providers, researchers, advocates, and community agencies. Together, we are committed to removing barriers to student success and creating pathways that help young people thrive.
We are especially excited about the upcoming 114th Annual IATDP Conference, which will be held October 18–21, 2026, in beautiful Corpus Christi, Texas. This year's conference theme, “Charting the Course: Connection as the Anchor to Truancy and Dropout Prevention,” highlights the critical role that meaningful relationships and community partnerships play in improving student outcomes.
Conference attendees can expect engaging keynote speakers, practical workshops, innovative strategies, and opportunities to connect with professionals from across the country who are making a difference in the lives of students every day. If your work is making a positive impact on keeping students in school and on track to graduate, we encourage you to share your knowledge and experiences with others. The Call for Proposals is currently open, and we are seeking presentations that provide actionable strategies participants can implement immediately. Conference attendees consistently value practical, real-world solutions—what works, what doesn't, and how successful approaches can be adapted to meet the needs of diverse and at-risk student populations.
