It is an honor to serve as your 2025–2026 President. I am excited for the year ahead and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated professionals.
I currently serve as the Director of Outreach & Attendance for Pearland Independent School District in Pearland, Texas, just outside of Houston. In this role, I provide district leadership for dropout prevention and recovery, McKinney-Vento homeless education, the district mentoring program, and truancy prevention and enforcement.
My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in teaching from Arkansas State University, a master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from Louisiana Tech University, and Texas Principal Certification. Over the past 30 years, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, coach, counselor, and administrator, and I remain deeply committed to the belief that educators are servant-leaders.
I am especially excited about this year as we are already hard at work planning our 114th Annual Conference, which will be held October 18–21, 2026, in sunny Corpus Christi. This year’s theme, “Charting the Course: Connection as the Key to Truancy and Dropout Prevention,” reflects the heart of our work.
Thank you for choosing such challenging—and incredibly rewarding—work. There is no doubt that you bring light into the darkness for so many students. Your relationships and connections act as anchors during life’s storms. When students feel they belong, they are more likely to attend, persist, and graduate. Connection doesn’t just improve outcomes—it changes lives.
I truly look forward to working with you this year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at holloways@pearlandisd.org.
Sincerely, Susan Holloway
