PERSONAL INFORMATION:
Melissa began her career as a child protection services clinician for the Cabinet for Families and Children in Lexington, Kentucky. She then became clinic coordinator for the University of Kentucky Child Sexual Abuse Clinic. Melissa came to Franklin County Schools as a school social worker and attendance specialist working with at risk students in regard to truancy and dropout prevention. She has been an assistant principal at Peaks Mill Elementary and Westridge Elementary. She became principal of the Educational Development Center in July 2006. In her spare time, Melissa likes to read and travel.
