PERSONAL INFORMATION:
Keith is the Director of Child Welfare and Attendance for the Calcasieu Parish School System in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was promoted to this position in 2001 after 18 months as an attendance supervisor. He also supervises the Majority to Minority Transfer Program as part of the desegregation plan for the school system.

Keith had a very successful high school coaching career, most of it being spent at Lake Arthur High School, his alma mater. He holds the school record for most career wins and play off appearances in football. Over the years he has been active in professional and civic organizations that are in involved in truancy and delinquency prevention efforts and the positive development of children and families in Louisiana. Keith serves as president elect of the Louisiana Association of Child Welfare and Attendance Personnel. He was one of the first child welfare and attendance personnel chosen to serve on state delinquency prevention boards, such as the Louisiana Association of Truancy Assessment and Service Centers and the Louisiana Families in Need of Services Association, where he currently serves as secretary.

Through local, state and national networking, Keith has begun community-wide initiatives to improve school attendance by empowering parents and re-engaging them in the education process. Most recently he was instrumental in develioping the Next Step Academy which is an alternative school for justice involved students. The program has been selected as a model to showcase statewide.

Keith is married and the father of three children, Hokie, Jarod and Amy. His hobbies are sports, hunting and fishing and all outdoor activities. His greatest joy is spending time with his three children.
