In his 33 plus years in public education, Ronnie held positions as a classroom teacher (9 years), special education supervisor (6 years); Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance andDirector of Child Welfare and Attendance (19 years). He was employed 8 years in Shreveport, Louisiana for the Caddo Parish School Board and has spent the past 25 years in Mansfield, Louisiana with the DeSoto Parish School Board.
PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS:
Ronnie has a Batchelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Arts / Special Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He also has an Masters of Education Degree in Education Administration / Psychology from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and an Education Specialist Degree in Special Education / Reading Specialist) from Louisiana State University. His Louisiana Teaching Certificate includes many areas of certification including Supervisor of Child Welfare & Attendance.
ASSOCIATION CREDENTIALS:
Ronnie served as President of the Louisiana Association of Child Welfare & Attendance Personnel during the 1993-1994 term. He moved up the IATDP officer chain to serve as President in 2000-2001. Ronnie served a second term as President of IATDP for 2003-2004. Ronnie was elected as Treasurer of IATDP at the Annual Conference in October, 2006 and serves in that capacity now.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Ronnie is married to Debra Land, also a retired teacher and School Principal.
Ronnie has four grandchildren – Hunter Pierce, Hailey Land, Matthew pierce, and Taylor Land.
Ronnie enjoys retirement and enjoys travel, hunting, fishing, backpacking, motorcycle riding and the grandchildren.
