PROFESSIONAL/Personal-BIO:
Louis Weldon Hammond, II is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He currently manages Real Estate and Precious Metals for the Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, TN, as well as working with small businesses within the Office of Socioeconomic Programs. He earned a Master of Science degree in Transportation Engineering from the James E. Clyburn University Transportation Center at South Carolina State University. In 1993, Mr. Hammond received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Urban Planning from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. Weldon has initiated several state-wide federal programs, planned infrastructure development for regional projects, and managed multi-million dollar budgets for the Y-12 National Security Complex, South Carolina State Department of Education as well as the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice. He has served as the project Manager for the Center for Truancy and Dropout Prevention for the state of South Carolina and served on the Richland County First Steps Board. Weldon has also worked as the Executive Director for the Center for Democracy and Government at Benedict College. Currently, he remains active in the community serving on local community and regional boards as well as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the NAACP and C.C. Russell #262 Prince Hall Lodge, and the Oak Ridge Scarboro Daycare Center Board. He is the proud father of one daughter, Erianna Seraiah Hammond.
