Personal Information
Wendy is the mother of three grown children; Josh (and wife Tamara), Kyle, and Skyler; and, two
granddaughters; Taylor and Hannah. She is the youngest of six born to a career Army father. As a
result, the family moved several times including living in two foreign countries. In her free
time, Wendy enjoys outdoor activities, sports, and reading.

Professional Experience:
Wendy is currently the Student Services Coordinator for the Garland Independent School District,
which comprises the municipalities of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse. In her capacity as Student
Services Coordinator, Wendy is responsible for Dropout Prevention and Recovery for the 22 secondary
campuses in the district. During her tenure with GISD, she has been instrumental in the development
of an automated attendance and court filing system and the establishment of a dedicated truancy
court for the district. Furthermore, she co-authored the Dropout Recovery Pilot Program Grant, Cycle 2,
for which the GISD received funding for the 2009-2010 school year. Prior to her return to public education,
Wendy spent two years working with juvenile parolees with the Texas Youth Commission. As an Educational
Liaison with TYC, she was responsible for training of institutional caseworkers, educational leaders, and
parole officers in the educational transition and statutory requirements for juvenile parolees.
